Sadly, despite what I kind of want, I’m going to be going to Blogger. You can’t use AdSense with sites because you need a site which takes money. I am not trying to make this into a business with profit and dues, I only want to be able to get money while I’m in school for college. So, please switch to my Blogger site and thank you!

ShockofGod and chatrooms- how to do it proper

So last night I was in the ShockofGod chatroom and the people there were awesome. They were mostly atheists and actually, a lot of the christians were nice. Of coure, the “terrible, scum monster” atheist trolls would get banned repeatedly while the innocent and harmless christians, drunk with LOL’s and swinging exclamation marks like a troll under the bridge, would never be reprimanded. In fact, one of the mods (they’re all christian: ShockofGod doesn’t trust atheists as mods) said that they didn’t like him and hated his arguments. Read more…

A sci-fi moral problem turned real

I was talking in ShockofGod’s chatroom last night and we got to the topic of tribes in places like Guinea and Peru. See, there are still human societies that haven’t been touched by modern man and as of right now, most of them are protected so as to not be interfered with. Before a video that NephilimFree showed, we were talking about whether we should contact them or not. NephilimFree turned it into a discussion about racism and how it’s silly. And that evolution is racist.

Fuck you. You’re the person with the book that justified slavery for thousands of years.

Anyways, I supported them being protected, but I full-heartedly understand what the other side has to say. Read more…

A critique on the Political Compass

Political Compass is a website which provides a test from a couple dozen questions from which it graphs you according to an authoritarian, libertarian, left, and right axis. It boasts that this system is better than just plotting yourself on a line according to left and right standards, which I agree with. However, I’m not exactly sure why they didn’t then think to develop a 3D model instead.

I think that Political Compass made a good step by thinking into the authoritarian-libertarian and left-right system. Sadly, it kind of falls flat on its face by not thinking “oh wait, that’s because those labels are useless”. Read more…

FlashForward is made an example of

I just finished watching FlashForward. It’s a really good show and I’d definitely recommend it. There’s suspenseful crime drama, conspiracy, drama, and science fiction aspects that all work hand in hand. All of the characters are dynamic and interesting, fleshed out and relatable. This is a show that knows how to handle a large cast so you don’t end up having generic look-alikes.

However, I’d like to vent my anger on its whole sci-fi part which is that you can explain any impossible-sounding event with a certain branch of science. This branch of science is relatively new. This branch of science is very hard to understand and study. Can you guess what science we’re talking about?

Yes. Quantum physics.

I wish a quantum physicist would make a public announcement. “Look, if anybody tried to explain something with string theory or quantum mechanics, tell them to piss off.” Nobody understands this science and it deals with things on a level where it breaks down the laws of science. I doubt it will serve any predictable and productive result within a decade.

So, TV show writers. Religious nuts. Stop using quantum mechanics to explain things when you don’t understand it. It makes you look like you’re trying to be smart and you’re on your last excuse for an idea.

They deserve more. They always do. They always will.

I just watched a video by somebody who I subscribed to after watching Shayrah’s livestream (subscribe to my Twitter or Facebook for updates on personal things like when I’m on a BlogTV or poetry and stuff) and it’s about a charity fundraiser for the National HIV/AIDS Vaccine Initiative/Alliance. This year’s will hopefully shatter previous event records and will feature more than a dozen YouTubers (Coughlan616, C0nc0rdance, DasAmericanAtheist, xxxthepeachxxx, etc.). It will be from August 27-28 for 36 hours, each YouTuber getting either a half or full hour block.

I also wanted to point something I saw on a video by the same person doing this event. It was a comment and the video was about TheAmazingAtheist asking money for a new camera when charities still need money. The comment read:

“Wow the title just makes it sounds like TJ [TheAmazingAtheist] is trying to swindle money away from people. Nobody deserves anything. We can choose to do with our money as we want. I would never donate to TJ over a charity but this is ridiculous. Respect lost, not that it matters.”

(I love posting quotes for some reason, sorry) He says that you can do anything with your money that you like. That’s right. He says that Liam, the person who made these two videos, is ridiculous and that he lost respect for him. That’s frustrating. He also says that nobody deserves anything. That’s fucking terrible. That’s inhumane- humanity is wishing the best of your fellow man and you cannot say that it’s ridiculous to believe that, like Doctors Without Borders does, helping people with cholera-poisoned water and living with fear of radical guerillas deserve more than a fucking selfish excuse for a person like you who has the luxury to even have the education and means to speak your opinion, unlike others.

More reasons why I hate Michele Bachmann

All quotes cited from Wikiquotes.

“We’re in a state of crisis where our nation is literally ripping apart at the seams right now, and lawlessness is occurring from one ocean to the other. And we’re seeing the fulfillment of the Book of Judges here in our own time, where every man doing that which is right in his own eyes- in other words, anarchy.”

– Michele Bachmann

Just look around you! Policemen are stopping law breakers! Most modern countries are free from homeland war! Airplanes are flying safely in the air! My god, the terror! Seriously Michele, calm the fuck down: every single day, the working class cooperates with each other and inevitably leads us all to a harmonious life where there isn’t much screwing around with. It’s the politicians and people with most of the power who mess things up. Why? Because of God complexes: you deny any form of trial-and-error, and instead, stick firmly with your beliefs- in this case, stone age ones. Read more…

I’m only curious about how disappointing it will be

I just saw a teaser trailer for the new Discovery Channel show “Curiosity”. Get this: the first episode is about God creating the universe. Half of the synopsis talks about experimental things while the second seems just theoretical and philosophical. I recommend you read it yourself and see if you’re interested. After all, it’s worth it just to see the pilot and here Stephen Hawking or the amazing Morgan Freeman (if only they had Neil deGrasse Tyson or Michio Kaku as well). I like these sort of shows that bridge the public and scientific community, as well as some of the hosts who do the same like Adam Savage from Mythbusters. However, I’m reminded of how Savage has said on his Twitter that he’d love to do a 911 conspiracy theory debunking episode but was denied because of its controversial aspect. Sadly I believe that this will happen with Curiosity as well, and all we will hear from the pilot is an agnostic “let’s all be right” message.

From the clean, polished, animated all-white teaser and apparent high-quality production value, it looks as if this won’t last a season just for it’s budget.

John Adams in 1776, Dalai Lama in 2012

Obama was discouraged to make a talk with the Dalai Lama by the Chinese government. Why would your nation disregard one of its most predominate figures which talks of world peace and spiritual/intellectual enlightenment?

Because this man is capable of creating a revolution to free Tibet. This pacifist is capable of making a free Tibet. Oh, and no, I don’t disagree with the president meeting with the Dalai Lama- he has more to say then mystic mumbo-jumbo.

Global warming is bad, but keep drilling

I don’t know much about what Obama has done- I neither like him, nor do I hate him for things that have been misconstrewed by the media or that I’ve read on the internet. I’ve always fiddled in my head about a website based on a system that will essentially get a receipt for all the actions and money spent by government officials, but that would surely take time, effort, and money: none of which I have right now. However, whether or not Obama has stopped drilling for oil in America, or on the shore, or whatever- we need to increase drilling. Read more…
